

Presentation of the book “Manual de Rotulagem Alimentar”

PortugalFoods, in collaboration with Edições Afrontamento, announces the presentation of the book “Manual de Labelagem Alimentar – Integrated approach from economic operators to the consumer”. The presentation will take place on December 14, at 3 pm, in the Foyer (1st floor) of the Business Center Building, at TECMAIA – Maia Science and Technology Park. The session will be attended by the Director of the National Program for Healthy Eating of the Directorate-General for Health, Maria João Gregório, and the organizers of the work: Francesco Montanari, Ana Pinto de Moura and Luís Miguel Cunha. Free entry with mandatory registration. About the book Against the background of Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 and the perspective of actors in the food sector with regard to its application and the use of labeling by consumers, this manual aims to provide the necessary tools to decoding the current legal framework. At the same time, the work analyzes some of the changes that the regulatory framework in force at European level may suffer due to the process of legislative revision currently taking place. This manual has a wide range of contributions from researchers, professionals in the agri-food sector and representatives of the competent national authorities. About the organizers Francesco Montanari Graduated in Law and PhD in European Law from the University of Bologna, Italy, and Master in Food Consumption Sciences from the Open University of Lisbon. He currently directs the Lisbon office of the international consultancy Arcadia International, carrying out European and national studies and projects, as well as advising companies in the food sector. He is the author of numerous academic and professional publications in the field of agri-food policy and law at European level. Ana Pinto de Moura Food Engineer from the School of Biotechnology, Catholic University of Portugal (1992) and PhD in Industrial Systems Engineering from the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, Nancy, France (1997). She is an Assistant Professor at Universidade Aberta and Coordinator of the Master in Food Consumption Sciences. She is an integrated researcher at GreenUPorto — Research Center for Sustainable Agri-Food Production, Consumer Perception and Sensory Analysis Group, focusing on the consumption of food products. Luís Miguel Cunha Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), at the Department of Geosciences, Environment and Spatial Planning (DGAOT) and Integrated Researcher at GreenUPorto – Research Center for Sustainable Agri-Food Production, where he coordinates the Perception Group Consumer and Sensory Analysis. Luís Miguel Cunha is a Food Engineer (1993) and has a PhD in Biotechnology, with a specialization in Food Engineering and Science (1999), from the Catholic University, having carried out part of his training at the Unilever Research Centre, Netherlands and at the University of California, Davis, USA .
